Creamy Garlic Penne
This is a garlic lovers recipe that is easy to make and will please your whole family. This penne recipe yields 6 servings.
Ingredients:
- 1 1/3 cups skim milk
- 1 can evaporated skim milk
- 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 2-4 garlic cloves, minced
- 2 teaspoons vegetable bullion powder
- 3/4lb boneless, skinless, chicken breast halves (cut into bite-sized pieces)
- 1 1/2 cups imitation crab meat
- 1 cup tomatoes, chopped
- 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground pepper
- 2 teaspoons olive oil
- 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 3 cups penne pasta
- salt to taste
- grated Parmesan cheese
- chopped fresh parsley
Directions:
- In a large, non-stick frying pan, mix both milks into flour and stir until smooth. Add garlic and bullion powder. Heat and stir on medium-low heat until it starts boiling and thickens. Keep on low heat, and stir occasionally.
- In another frying pan, saute chicken in oil for about 5 minutes or until slightly browned. Sprinkle with cayenne and pepper. Add tomatoes and crab meat. Toss well until hot. Add this to the milk mixture, stirring, and keeping warm.
- In a large pot, cook pasta in boiling, salted water. Cook for 10-12 minutes or until tender. Drain.
- Pour pasta onto serving dish and pour sauce on top. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese and parsley.
